Scores of distance education Grade 12 learners complete final exams

Distance Education Provider, Brainline, says scores of Grade 12 students will tomorrow, Friday 29 November, write the last paper of their final matric exams. Brainline’s students were part of more than 12 000 home education students who participated in this year’s IEB examination, which is quality assured by Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education.

‘We are extremely satisfied with the way the final exams were conducted at our four centres around the country, which included Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Western Cape. Our students have received the optimal support to prepare them for this momentous exam,’ says Coleen Cronje, Chief Executive Officer of Brainline.

Brainline’s students come from South Africa and other parts of the world where South African citizens reside.  The IEB National Senior Certificate is an internationally benchmarked qualification and is equivalent to Cambridge AS level. The Independent Examination Board (IEB) class of 2018 scored a 98.9% pass rate, an increase of 0.2% from 2017.

‘We are very excited about the results that will be made public on 7 January 2019. Our students are able to access their results on the IEB website, www.ieb-online.co.za and they are already able to register for the sms service for the release of their results on their phones.
